f(x)’s Sulli cuts her hair for To The Beautiful You
Just when we thought SM Entertainment‘s upcoming adaptation of popular Japanese comic Hana Kimi, titled To the Beautiful You, was going to have f(x)’s Choi Sulli in a short wig – the sweet lass surprised us all when drama stills showed she’s officially chopped off her long hair!
The BTS show Sulli wearing little make-up, and instead of the pretty clothes she usually has on during her stage appearances, she’s dressed in down-to-earth non-flashy ones. Unlike her recent image for f(x)’s ‘Electric Shock’ promotions, the 18-year-old also looks a lot younger, and more her age.
This is, however, not the first time the singer’s donned a short bob haircut. In the 2007 movie Punch Lady, pre-debut Sulli played a rebellious child, in an unexpected role that displayed a tough side to her, one that’s completely different from the sweet image that we see from her now.
Just recently, Sulli admitted to E-Daily Star In that she was excited and nervous over the upcoming show, saying, “It’s been a long time since I have come in front of the public as an actress. I am very excited but also nervous at the same time.”
After seeing Sulli in all her promotional activities with f(x), it’s a rather alarming change to see her donning a short ‘do. But we love how she’s unafraid to go the extra mile – all in the name of art! Furthermore, we can’t wait to see how she’ll fare opposite SHINee‘s Choi Minho, who’ll be playing the male lead in the drama.
Other confirmed actors include ZE:A’s Hwang Kwanghee.
To The Beautiful You will begin airing in August under SBS. Based on Hana Kimi, the story follows a girl living in the United States who becomes enamoured by a high jump gold medalist after watching his performance on TV, eventually disguising herself as a boy to attend the all-boys school he goes to.
