Hot Guy of the Week: Kim Ji Seok
Currently making his moves on Jung Yumi‘s character Joo Yeol Mae in tvN’s ‘I Need Romance 2012‘, Kim Ji Seok is well on his way to becoming one of our favourite second male leads…ever.
After wrapping up Personal Taste in 2010, we haven’t seen much of this boyishly good-looking man as he enlisted into the army a mere four days after. He’s laid low on the drama radar for the earlier half of this year after being discharged, but we’re so, so glad that he’s finally back on our screens for some good lovin’.
Playing Shin Ji Hoon in this year’s I Need Romance, Ji Suk is unbelievably effortless at making viewers root for his underdog character. Well, that and he’s a total sweetheart in the show. Is it just me, or do post-military actors just seem to get a hundred times more attractive? Maybe it’s because they’ve gone past the years of playing hard-to-get and stubborn drama leads who never confess their feelings right up till the last couple of episodes, but I’m really loving the refreshing change.
To spice things up a little reel-and-real life alike, the 31-year-old is also best friends with other leading man Lee Jin Wook (Myungwol the Spy), so it’s just intriguing to see the dynamics of both men on screen as they fight it out to win the girl.
Also, have we mentioned that just him talking alone is enough to make us go weak in the knees? The man’s got this low, slight husky undertone to his voice. Watch him here as he plays pretend-boyfriend to SECRET‘s Zinger:
