We round up 2015’s Christmas tunes

Happy holidays from the Dinoseoul team!

With Christmas just around the corner, we’ve rounded up the best of seasonal releases this year for you to create this year’s festive playlist.

*Post will be continually updated with the release of more songs.

The Barberettes – Lonesome Christmas

The Barberettes is a group that we’d love to keep a secret to ourselves because we want their gorgeous voices all to ourselves. Yet, it won’t be nice now would it, to not share voices that are this good? ‘Lonesome Christmas’ comes in both a Korean and English version, and sings of a lonesome Christmas far away from home. If you’re far away, this will surely hit you right in the feels. This is also the first video where we see the group’s new member Sunnie after Grace’s departure, and we think she fits in perfectly. We definitely can’t wait to hear more from her!

Starship Planet – Softly

Trust Starship Planet to deliver us a this year’s feel-good track. But how can they go wrong with voices from the likes of popular vocalists like K.Will, SISTAR‘s Hyorin and Jooyoung? But of course, the company’s other artistes do a fabulous job at rounding up the harmonies and choruses as well. One of our favourites this season.

TaeTiSeo – Dear Santa

Dear Santa is one of those tracks you think you’re gonna get slowly swept up in, only to realise it’s an upbeat track that you’ll completely jam to. ‘Dear Santa’ is released in both Korean and English, and our vote goes to the latter! Somehow, this sounds a lot more cohesive in English than Korean – but both versions are still worthy of a listen!

EXO – Sing For You

If there’s anything that I look forward to each year, it’s the knowledge that the glorious voices of EXO exist – reminding me that there is heaven on Earth. ‘Sing For You’ is the title track of the group’s ‘Winter Special Album 2015‘, a gorgeous ballad that will take you on the same emotional journey that last year’s ‘Miracles in December’ did.

B1A4 – It’s Christmas Time

We swear we hear “I just want to be your girlfriend” in the lyrics (it’s actually “I just want to be a good friend” – in case you’re wondering), but that aside, B1A4‘s ‘It’s Christmas’ is as literal as it gets. You’ll love the upbeat vibes in this!

f(x) – Wish List

Trust f(x) to gift us a track that’s not generic Christmas fodder. There’s a distinctive modern flavour to ‘Wist List’ that helps colour the track and make it stand out amidst all the festive tracks this season. We also get to hear even more of Amber singing here, which is always a nice touch because girl’s got a beautiful voice.

Red Velvet – Wish Tree

Red Velvet doesn’t disappoint with ‘Wish List’. Doing away with any major frills, the lovely ladies let their voices shine in their first Christmas track. Considering the girls are known for their fast-paced and dance-laden tracks, this is a really lovely change.

April – Snowman

The season isn’t complete without a cutesy number from an up-and-rising Korean girl group April! Full of girlish appeal, ‘Snowman’ is sure to please anyone with a penchant for sweet tunes, fluffy costumes and colourful sets.

Do you have a Christmas song this year you’d like to add to the list? Let us know!
